When hot temperatures become part of our daily lives, they begin to remind us everywhere how to take care of ourselves. There is hardly a person who still does not know that it is necessary to apply sunscreen. In addition, he must wear light fabrics and be sure to have a hat, as the sun is really very strong.

Another question is to what extent these rules are met. But it seems that wearing glasses is not talked about so much, but it is important. The hat is not enough - we need to have sunglasses, of course, best bought from optics. Their purpose is actually to protect us, not just to wear them as an accessory.

If we don't wear sunglasses we can cause a lot of problems. They are not just another fashion fad, but a necessity to protect our eyesight. Here are some tips when choosing glasses:

1. Yellow and orange glasses are not suitable for wearing in sunny weather, they are more suitable for wearing when it is cloudy. Blue sunglasses reduce visibility as well as contrast - not recommended for children. Brown and green provide good enough protection against UV rays. Purple and pink glasses are not suitable for wearing in sunny weather.

2. When buying sunglasses, make sure that it is noted that the product you choose will completely block UV rays.

3. Polarized lenses are very sensitive to glare and are suitable if you like water sports. Photochromic lenses darken when exposed to UV protection and are especially suitable for permanent wear. Mirror glasses are too easy to scratch, and those with interchangeable lenses are especially suitable as they are available in different colors. This allows you to adapt to the environment.

4. Here are the types of coatings on the glasses and what is their purpose:

- the antistatic coating will not allow the dust to stick to the glass;

- the hydrophobic coating means that the glasses will not be fogged by a sudden change in temperature (from very cold to warm);

- anti-reflective coating will help your eyes not to get tired, as it will reduce glare;

The glasses you buy can have only one or several of these coatings, as of course all of them. The glasses you choose can be with 100% protection from UV rays, but with different protection from visible rays, here's how they are separated:

- Category 0 (from 0 to 10% of visible light) - suitable for fashion accessory, to be worn when the weather is cloudy;

- Category 1 (up to 40% protection) - extremely suitable for variable weather - sometimes sunny, sometimes cloudy;

- Category 2 (up to 70% protection from visible light) - suitable for wearing in sunny weather, also suitable for use while driving;

- Category 3 (up to 85% protection) - suitable for wearing in clear weather and bright sun;

- Category 4 (up to 95% of visible light) - the highest possible degree of tinting of the windows, very suitable for bright sun, wearing on the beach, high in the mountains. They are not suitable, however, for driving.

For everyday wear in urban conditions, it is best to get glasses of 2 or 3 categories.
