A study by British scientists has revealed some interesting data about diets, which until now remained a little out of the spotlight. A study of more than 1,000 volunteers showed that the average woman went on a diet 2.7 times a year.

Just over one in ten, 12% of women surveyed said they were hungry more than five times a year. The average age at which most of the fairer sex start restricting food is 26 years old. One in three women completed their first diet shortly after reaching the age of 15.

Statistics show that, unfortunately, starvation in women is not a very effective way to lose weight. Surprisingly, one third of the women on the diet not only did not lose weight, but added new ones to their weight. The reasons for the low efficiency of diets in women are many and varied.

Six out of ten women admit that restricting their favorite foods is difficult, and 42 percent just like to eat. To feel better, every third lady is ready to reach for chocolate as an antidote to depression.

An additional obstacle to a successful diet is the fact that women continue to prepare food for their families. Thus, they are constantly exposed to temptation.

Small temptations and secret eating of favorite foods are not the main reason for the low efficiency of diets in women. It turns out that the fairer sex are simply not persistent enough in the pursuit of the ideal weight. The average duration of the diets is exactly 5 weeks, 2 days and 43 minutes.

Only 13 percent of women follow a diet for a longer period. 19% of women give up within a month of starting the diet, almost as many abandon diets in just a few days.

According to experts, the secret of the success of any diet is not in rapid weight loss, which can often have the opposite effect, but in making small changes in our lifestyle that will lead to the desired result for our body and health.
