The quality leather jacket never goes out of style. But to keep it in good condition for a long time, you will need to take care of the material.

Unlike other types of clothing, you can't let go of your favorite leather jacket in the washing machine together with the other laundry, as it can shrink and deform.

Of course, the easiest option is to take it to dry cleaning, but if you do not have this option, there are some quick and easy ways to leather jacket cleaning at home.

One solution is quite simple - a mixture of soap and water. Fill warm water in a large, open container. Add about two teaspoons of liquid detergent and stir until the soap is completely dissolved.

The goal is to get a very gentle solution that you can use to wipe your jacket without damaging it. Never immerse leather jacket in the soap solution. To clean it, take a clean and soft sponge so as not to scratch the surface, and wipe with light movements.

The sponge must be moist so that the water does not cause further damage to the delicate material. Pay special attention to the places that are most worn, such as collars, pockets and others.

After passing the contaminated areas, wipe the jacket again, this time with clean water to remove soap residue.

Make sure there is no water left on the garment. Wipe with a dry towel and allow to dry. Keep in mind that direct heat can damage the skin, so do not dry the jacket with a hair dryer and do not leave it next to the radiator.

Other option for leather jacket cleaning is an aqueous solution of soap and ammonia, or an aqueous solution of glycerin. After such treatments, it is good to wipe the jacket with a napkin soaked in castor oil.

You can restore skin radiance with whipped egg whites, clear shoe polish or leather conditioner. To treat abrasions around the cuffs, smear them with orange peel on freshly peeled fruit.

Remove greasy stains from the jacket with baby powder or chalk. However, you have to wait at least half an hour and then wipe the skin. Mashed potatoes have the same effect.

However, be sure to test each product on a discrete part of the jacket first to avoid any major problems.
